Sydney and Alex originally planned an April 2020 wedding and like so many other couples, had to completely change their plans due to Covid. They settled on a new date of June 12, 2021 and opted to have their new backyard wedding and reception at a family member’s home in Canal Winchester. It could not have been more perfect! Their decorations were mainly made by the couple and their families, including the “chandeliers”, which were made out of hula hoops and were so unique (you’ll see what I mean)! The couple was married under the arch Alex’s grandpa built, which is so special. Several others in the groom’s family have been married under it as well, which I love! What a beautiful way to pay tribute and bring even more meaning to their ceremony.
Special touches included Sydney’s grandmother’s necklace wrapped around the base of her bouquet, Alex’s mom surprising him with a pocket square made from her wedding dress, their ceremony arch of course, and last but not least, the simple fact that they could celebrate with their loved ones, even though they had to delay a little while. Weddings feel even more special these days with all we’ve been through. Every single celebration we have the honor of being part of is beautiful and special, and this one was no exception.
I was able to hand-deliver Sydney and Alex’s wedding images in Cleveland this past weekend and it was a joy to see them look at each one and to hear personally how much they loved them. That’s something I usually read over email and I loved seeing their reactions! I know they will cherish them for years to come. Enjoy!
